Classes were cancelled April 17, 2007, after St. Edwards University discovered a bomb threat through a note in a public restroom. KWTX covered this story that seemed to tie hand-in-hand with the Universities and linked readers directly to the website. KWTX does not take an official stance on the situation, but reminds readers that this incident comes only one day after the Virginia Tech tragedies. The article also gives a few brief statistics about the school, just so readers can get an idea of why this is an important story. The news coverage of this incident is directly to the point and seems to report the information with an understanding tone. This news group gives only a brief account of the situation. It is covered more thoroughly on the school's official website. This article is clearly a touchy subject for readers and the writers try to be as clear and helpful as possible without attacking the school in any way.

The St. Edwards University website released an emergency bomb statement on their main web page anouncing that there was, in fact, a bomb threat at at 8 a.m. on the 4/17/0 7. They gave more specific details as to what happend and a full list of questions and answers reguarding the situation, as well as more information about what to do in the future for situations like this. They also go on to again list their web address and phone number as contact information. This news release is addressed to students and parents, but only comes from the university. The message was not specifically written or adressed by a top leader there. The Universities organizational response was timely, but failed to provide very much sympathy for the Virginia Tech students or their own. The message they sent out should have been from their President of another top executive that could address the students personally. Nevertheless, St. Edwards University did take serious precautions toward providing safety for their students and after police arrived they were able to make sure everything was clear, where students were then able to safely return to campus.
